Product description

Trust Sweet Iron Kimblewick Locked

This Sweet Iron Kimblewick by Trust is a kind of jumping curb bit which is ridden with only one rein. The rein can be placed in different positions, the further down the bit the stronger the leverage and the sharper the effect of the bit. The Kimblewick has a milder action than a normal jumping curb bit. The mouthpiece is a special type of single bit because it locks when pressure is applied to the rein and then becomes a straight bar. When the pressure is released, the mouthpiece loosens and becomes a single bit again. The recognisable blue colour is a Sweet Iron alloy, which significantly increases the acceptance of the bit, as it oxidises on contact with moisture and forms sweet-tasting surface rust for horses. In addition, the rust stimulates saliva production and chewing activity.

Note: When not in use, a thin, orange-brown layer of rust will develop on the mouthpiece. This can be removed with a damp cloth and does not represent a quality defect!
