Stübben Steeltec, Pelham "Easy Control"

The "Easy Control" Pelham by Stübben is optically hardly different from other Pelhams, but there is a small but decisive difference. If the bit lies still in the mouth without pulling, it adapts optimally to the contours and anatomy of the horse's mouth. However, if the horse presses against the bit and a certain angle is reached in the bit joint, the "Easy Control" blocks and has a bar-like effect. If the horse releases the pressure, the bit also comes to rest comfortably in the mouth. So if you have a horse that is going against the reins, it will be corrected by the bar effect and will be strengthened by the comfortable position in a calm state. For this reason this bit serves as a correction or training bit, because it has a self-learning effect. Pelhams can be used with two pairs of reins or with only one pair of reins in combination with pelham straps. The use of a chin chain, with a suitable pad, distributes the pressure not only on the neck and the lower jaw, but also on the chin, thus utilizing all pressure points of the horse's head. Easy Control Pelhams have proven to be very successful in show jumping, where it is often difficult to take the horse back before the jump. When using too sharp bits, the horses often become too cautious and do not make enough speed. This negative effect does not occur with Easy Control Pelham.
